GoodRx In Settlement Talks With the FTC
Prescription drug platform’s data sharing practices likely to settle for nearly $3 million.
August 13, 2022
Two years after finding itself in the Federal Trade Commission’s crosshairs, GoodRx Holdings (GDRX), a platform allowing consumers to compare and save on prescription drug prices, is in settlement talks with the antitrust enforcement agency. The company’s security practices are being scrutinized after it was found to have shared patient data with Google and Facebook.
Based on recent discussions with the FTC— and the FTC’s recent settlement proposals— GoodRx has accrued $2.8 million to settle the case. The company’s latest quarterly filing warned that settlement negotiations may fall apart and the actual loss may be significantly greater than what has been accrued.
