Toast Inc. (TOST), maker of a restaurant operating system and point-of-sale (POS) system, has inserted new language in its latest quarterly filing that suggests issues with its key offering. The company inserted a new warning related to performance problems “associated with our technology and infrastructure.”

In referring to system outages and disruptions in the current year, Toast specifically pointed to third party vendors. Later in the filing, Toast referenced performance issues for a third time and suggested it has not identified the underlying causes of certain performance issues which will require additional capital:

“... and may utilize significant time, human capital and other resources to analyze the root causes of these performance problems and address any gaps identified, which in turn may take away resources from other business activities.”
