Zscaler Slashes Operating Loss By $3 Million With Accounting Change
Cybersecurity company reduced key expense nearly twenty percent with the stroke of a pen.

Zscaler (ZS) a cloud security firm, significantly reduced depreciation expense with new useful life estimates of its servers and networking equipment. The company extended the lives of the equipment from four to five years.
The change improved Zscaler’s performance for the three months ended October 31, 2023 by:
—Reducing depreciation expense by $3.1 million, or 18.2%
—Reducing operating loss to $46 million, or 6.3%
